I have also had other minor roles but nothing worth mentioning as I'm not sure that I can be identified being one in a large crowd. I did try out for a big role. It would have meant one week in Chile with free flight and food and would have earned me around 3500 euro. I got to know that the chances of getting the role were quite good and that I should keep the date open. Sadly I didn't get it in the end, but sooner or later ...
As for my Spanish studies, I finished them two weeks ago and I have learned a lot. The grammar is very hard and I sadly failed my final exam, like many others. I'll get to redo it in August. In September I'm considering going to Spain to study more. If I get a good job within journalist that's my priority of course. I have however decided to widen the areas that I search in.
I am also open for trying out teaching at SFI, Swedish for immigrants, or at the very least be an asistant teacher. Many of the people that I meet during the weekly Bekantskaper meetups for learning Swedish say that the biggest problem at SFI is that there is no chance to speak the language. Quite logical as there is only one teacher and many students. I can easily see me helping out in the classroom with answering questions more "one on one" while the teacher holds the lecture. I'm going to write to SFI and ask if I may try it for a week for free, I'm quite sure that my boss at Bekantskaper would tell them good things about me if they need a reference. I also doubt they mind extra help and I'll get to know if it is something for me. A win/win situation and I wont cry over one week of missed salary.
Yesterday it was the national day of Sweden and I celebrated it by singing the national anthem in the shower, then going to a beach party and finished a great day at our regular bar with many good friends. I considered swimming but didn't in the end. The heat shock decided to take a two day break, today it was back to something like 25 at primetime again. May has averaged 17 degrees in Sweden, the warmest since 1945 apparently. In Gothenburg, the second largest city in Sweden, it was the warmest since 1887. Feels good. The rest of June looks bright as well. The 23rd is going to be rainy as that is midsummer in Sweden, a day with great fun outside. It is just a rule, midsrummer is always rainy. Feel free to google Swedish midsummer for some fun, it is literally the only day when I'd rather be in Sweden than anywhere else.
I also keep trying (and failing) to qualify for the championship in round table tennis that I've mentioned once or twice. Just two more chances to go. We'll see how it goes. I will try to not wait two months with the next post. Thank you Mike for reminding me in the "Suggestions and questions" tab.
