I've been waiting til wednesday to be able to name the post Happy birthday. Today I'm gonna eat some cake in the evening but I did most of the celebrating while in Sundsvall, most nights ended pretty late. I wrote the last blog post on Tuesday and ended it with that I would be going to a quite special hamburger place on Wednesday so let's start off there.
Well, after school I and four friends took the bus to the hamburger place after preordering one of these burgers. Why preorder and why one? Well, the burger weighs 2.2 kg. It was technically a burger but it was more like eating a cake, taking a slice each. To be honest the burger didn't taste very good, but we got it down. We had one guy who ate far more than his share (good thing) and I ate a bit more plus a lot of fries, the rest had it a bit tougher, perhaps they weren't smart enough to take a light lunch. We came there at around 19, one hour before the restaurant was closing and at around 19.50 the last pieces of fries, burger and bread were down in our stomachs.
After that four of us joined our classmates at the student union place for a bit of celebrating. I didn't bring much money and they don't take cards but I didn't really need it either. I usually play table football with one hand for something to drink, and I rarely lose. Today was no exception and it was also great speaking to my classmates a bit more than we had time for in school, as well as some other friends.
Some hours later when the palce would close soon a few of us went on to Daltons, a karaoke pub. I had missed karaoke quite a lot so that was really great. I went for two Swedish classics, Kung för en dag and Vilse i skogen to great applause. I'm a bad singer but I do it with enthusiasm, a bit of acting in gestures and expressions and a pair of heartshaped purple sunglasses, that pretty much completes the show regardless of my voice. I also had classmates that did great, Summer nights from Grease among other songs. That's probably what I love with karaoke, everyone does great.
I also ended up making two new friends -at least on Facebook-, one was a guy who I found myself sitting next to at a table that I started to talk to. He had never sung karaoke before but his friend had decided that they would now. He was a bit nervous so I gave him some encouraging words, saying pretty much what I wrote about loving karaoke in the last paragraph. A few minutes later his friend told him it was their turn and they headed to the stage. I stood cheering as he sang I want it that way by Backstreet Boys, quite well as far as I could tell. When he came back he had enjoyed it and so we added each other, for some reason he told me to add his friend that I hadn't talked to too, so I did.
Now it was almost 02 so Daltons would close soon, there were only three of us left and one took a cab home. Me and the last one decided to go to kebab city as we were hungry. I'm not sure how I could be hungry after the burger earlier but I was. When we came there we saw it was closed, so we decided that a hotdog at the gas station five hundred meters away would have to do. Then my friend did the laziest and most unnecessary thing I've ever seen anyone do. He jumped into a cab and told me to join. I told him to get out of there but after refusing and saying he was paying for the cab I accepted it. I'm pretty sure the chauffeur was laughing silently while trying to tell my complaining friend that the taximeter was being fair. Two minutes and ten euro later we were at the gas staton and bought a hotdog each, then the night ended.
The next day was the last day of school so we said goodbye to each other. Me and a few others were staying for a while longer but most were leaving. I had thought that everyone would want to take the chance to be with the class a bit but I didn't think about that many would like to meet their families too. I had met mine all the time as they live in Stockholm just like me but the same doesn't go for everyone obviously. The next day I had a chill evening with my friend, we intended to have another former classmate there too but he overslept until 03. A very interesting guy as you might guess, he works nighttime at an hotel. On Friday I went to an international party, not much to say except that it was great. I shouldn't say much either as this blog post is getting too long.
Cya folks
