We ate some good food and desert, as usual each of the three families that were there had brought something for dinner or desert. We ate some nice food together and sang some drinking songs. They're called "snapsvisor" in Swedish, drinking songs is the translation that google translate gives me but it isn't really correct. Or well, they are funny short songs and are about drinking, so technically drinking songs is correct, you also finish the song with taking a snaps, which is similar to a shot but not as strong. Snapsvisor are mainly for entertainment, the goal isn't to get drunk and that's the difference. They are often already existant songs but with a different text, sometimes we've written our own ones but sadly it didn't happen this time.
After some snapsvisor we changed to Christmas songs with great enthusiasm. Everything from beautiful and religious songs like "O holy night" in Swedish to songs like "The mice Christmas". I don't think the last one exists in English, it's originally Norwegian but there are Swedish lyrics to it and we sang both. It's basicly about how the mice celebrate christmas, like decorating the old boot that counts as a christmas tree with spider web of different colors for example. The song is very popular among children but adults like it as well.
After finishing with dinner, desert and singing most left for their places, I stayed there with some of my cousins and we had a nice evening watching Star Wars episode 3. We also started eating from the large amount of candy each of us had gotten in a box. My box had a lot of licorice that I don't like, unlike my cousin who was happy to change box with me. That box had some licorice as well but a lot less. Sadly it was too dark in the room for me to distinguish what was licorice and what wasn't. After two accidental licorice caramels that I had to get down I gave up and saved my candy for later. It was still a nice movie tho, and very nice company.
The next day we went bowling. It went alright, I got 90 in my first game and 84 in my second. 174 in total that is, not too bad but it was fairly annoying that my cousin was a bit behind me all the time but ended up making a strike on his last shot, which put him at 175 after two extra throws. When I was younger I would have been very angry but now I take it with a smile, I'll get revenge some time somehow. After one more dinner with a bit of singing I went home to Stockholm. The snow had started to come and it kept coming today so now it actually looks like winter here in Sweden. It was too late for Christmas but we'll have decent snow when 2016 comes at least. The snow will also be nice to look at during the walk me and my father are going on with my godmother and godfather that are coming over tomorrow for a while, I havn't seen them for a while so I'm looking forward to it.
Gnight folks, and in case I don't write before, HAPPY NEW YEAR!
PS: The picture isn't taken by me and isn't of any place close to me as far as I know, I just found it funny.
