So how have I spent and will I spend the time I got left here? Well, today I went playing miniature golf for the first time in many years. I didn't have high expectations and it started really bad but after I while I managed to pick up the pace and get two hole in ones. I got a total of 42 on the 10 tracks and that feels surprisingly decent.
This friday I did another thing that was also the first time in many years, I watched a football game. I had promised some football addicted friends that I would watch if Sweden made it to the finals in the world championship. I didn't expect that to happen but I completely forgot that our female team is quite a lot better than our male team. When they reached the Olympic final after beating both USA and Brazil I felt like it was the same. Promises are good to keep even if they are intended as jokes so I asked some friends if they wanted to join me for the game in some pub. Only one was free and funny enough that friend was equally uninterested in football but we still went.
We saw Germany shoot 1-0 and while we cheered for Sweden neither of us cared that much. I went to the toilet and when I came back another guy was sharing the table with my friend. A minute later his girlfriend joined in too, and turns out they were german. While talking to them I completely missed that both teams scored a goal and that it was 2-1 for Germany, which was also the end result. I may have been bad at paying attention but the two germans were actually even worse. They sat on the opposite side of the table and with their backs to the screen so they couldn't see the game but they actually didn't even know that Germany was playing the olympic games final and winning it before me and my friend told them. I think our table was the only one that wasn't football crazy in the pub.
Except for that Sweden took a few other gold medals and many bronze and silver and it's always fun, especially our swimmer Sarah Sjöström. I was also very happy to see Bolt win his three races, 100m, 200m and 4x100m. It was the third Olympics in a row that he took three gold medals out of three possible. It was also his last Olympics, he's competing in the world championship next year and then quitting. Except for Bolt winning it was also good to see Justin Gatlin lose against him. Why I'm glad he lost? Well, he's been caught for doping twice. I believe in giving athletes a second chance but a third? No. That person has nothing to do on a sports field and I'd rather see any of you readers participate. Also: Congrats to Wayde van Niekerk for 43.03 on 400m, new world record. I'm just 11 second behind so I could totally get there if I really tried.
On friday I'm going to meet friends, some that I havn't seen in a long time so that feels like a good way to say goodbye to Stockholm. The plan is to eat dinner or watch a movie but I don't care that much what we do, always good to see friends.
This monday I also played my best chess tournament ever. I wrote a similar post not too long ago, that's why I didn't start with it in this one but I just can't skip it. There were 41 players and 20 boards. On round seven I had 5/7 points and got to meet the leader and soon to be clear winner, George Meier who is Germanys second best player and rated number 80 in the world in fast chess right now. Wow, so much Germany in this post. I also met the swedish champion. I lost against both but I have gotten a draw against the latter with 5 minutes before, now we played 3 minutes + two seconds each move. It usually means a little less stress.
For those of you that know chess: My rating is 1779 and my performance rating the 11 rounds were 2185. I went + 83 elo. I only got 6/11 points but I faced very good opponents with an average of 2135.
