When I got to the Uppsala central station I met my father who was going to pick me up by car as his place in Vallentuna is right between Uppsala and Stockholm but would be a lot more expensive and time consuming to reach than just Uppsala. Or well, I thought he was just going to pick me up. Turns out he had brought a friend of his that I also know well along. We said hello as normal but suddenly realised we havn't met for over three years. Instead of taking the car home to Vallentuna we went for a walk to her place.
On the way we talked about that my father used to live nearby a long time ago. He went to show me the place, on the courtyard and he pointed at which window was his and after that explained a bit about his neighbours cat, - right then I feel something brushing against my leg, a cat! Obviously not the same cat but it was a very cute one that loved hugs. No surprise there, while many cats come when asked and are happy to cuddle few cats actually walk up to you without you even seeing them.
After a while of patting this very social little girl we went with our friend to pay her daughter, who has the apartment next to her, a visit. That was also very funny as we hadn't seen each other for over three years either, time flies. Well, we say a hello and talked for a while then headed back to the car and back to Vallentuna, even before I got to Stockholm I met some friends.
The next day I met some friends from my old school watching an old movie, lots of old stuff but the saffron buns sure weren't, having been taken out of the oven just 15 minutes ago by the guy at the store where I ordered them before the short walk to my friends place. That we also had some typical Swedish julmust and candy didn't hurt either.
Then came Christmas.
I didn't celebrate it that much really, me and my father exchanged gifts, opened them and took a beer. I also got gifts from my mother but I didn't do more than go for a short walk that day.
The gifts?
Two nice books
A German Mickey Mouse comic book
A booklet of a lot of pictures and stuff that I had done my first years
The last gift was really exciting to see and I read some funny quotes by me like
"Me: If I dropped Hippo (my cuddly toy) I would die.
Mum: You wouldn't die but you'd be very sad.
Me: But there were at least a lot of dead isopods in Portugal." (We were there some time, not sure when and definately don't understand how it was related to cuddly toys.)
Now, 27/12, I've read both books, the comic books and the album from my childhood. They were all really great, the comic book mainly for my German but still great.
Next day, 25/12 I celebrated Christmas with my relatives in Uppsala, many cousins, other relatives and six of the next generation between twelve- and less than one years old. One of them, a 3.5 years old girl was really funny and liked playing a lot, almost more than me and my cousin could take. A very nice day and evening indeed. The day after that, 26/12 some of us went bowling together before I took the train back to Stockholm. It didn't go that well but I got one strike at least, and it was fun so who cares.
And today me and my father visited some friends of us for dinner and playing some games, a bit of work on his part too. All in all a great time so far, and I still got many friends left to meet. Now I also need to get started again with my study tho, not after schedule right now but I got stuff to do on it so time to get going tomorrow.
So Merry Chrismas readers. Mine was great, how was yours?
