Went to meet a friend to do something, that was pretty much the agreement. We went to a café for something to eat and after talking for a while we came to the subject of marriage, and where the ceremony could be held if not in a church. I mentioned an escalator, an excellent suggestion I'd say. The only problem, usually the time to get from the bottom to the top of an elevator is quite short. The easy solution, we checked which the longest elevator in the world was. I believe it was Ukraine, the longest in western europe however, happened to be in Stockholm, in a subway station called Västra skogen "The west forest". Obviously we needed to know how long time it took with the elevator so off we went. We learned that it was exactly 90 seconds. The wedding ceremony would need to be fast but I think it would work. Being at Västra skogen we found it a bit boring to immidiately go back so we decided to go for a walk instead to see where we ended up. After a while of walking we got to Karolinska sjukhuset, a hospital that we knew where it was. From there, a bus back to city and a good day was spent. Subway spotting is a highly underrated act.
Today? A long chess tournament, 18 5 minute rounds so quite exhausting. Despite not playing very well I managed to get a price, 400 kr. Sounds like a lot but as the entry fee was 200 kr it wasn't really that great. 36 participants with the prices 1650 kr +850 kr + 450 kr + 400 kr + 400 kr doesn't really equal 200x36 (7200 kr). Oh well, I guess I should be quite happy with what I got as I didn't really deserve it performancewise. Hopefully I will play better next time, and hopefully the entry will cost a lot less.
