Saturday:
The day when Stockholm marathon took place. I am a runner but I don't really like that long distances, I don't think my body would have any problems but I just don't have the psyche to keep running for over three hours. I've run 30 km once and when I finished it was almost as much due to aching feet and being tired of running as exhaustion. So I skipped Stockholm marathon, perhaps I'll run it in a few years. But I didn't skip running completely, I couldn't just sit at home on such a runners day, could I?
At 08:00 I went out for a short morning jog to make my body wake up and get ready for the race Sidsjöloppet at 12:30. Then I worked on a paper for about three hours, before heading to the race.
Sidsjöloppet is a 3.1 km race around the nearby lake Sidsjön. It was for free, it was a nice distance and Sidsjön is beautiful, so a perfect race! I was also curious about how I could perform as havn't trained much lately. I managed to come third out of 50 runners so that was pretty nice but I can't say that my performance was very good. My personal best for 3 km is 9:52. My goal was to beat 11 minutes, that would be less than one minute after my best as this race was 100m longer. I thought that I got about 10:40 but I must have heard wrong. Now that I look at the results I see that I got 11:24 which is quite bad for me. Oh well, I guess I can't expect much when I don't train much. I'll try to get in better shape when I run with my friends in Stockholm again.
I actually had two friends who ran the marathon, my classmate got 3:28 and broke the magic 3:30, congratulations on that. And even larger congratulations to my friend from Stockholm that I've spent many hours running with over the years, 3:12 and among the 1000 best that participated. I'm not sure when I'm running Stockholm maraton but I'm quite sure that it will be a challenge to beat his time.
Anyway, a few hours after going home I felt well enough to eat, I always feel nauseous after a good race. I ate something light, then I had to head out again to work as a waiter. My class works as waiters for another class when they have a nice dinner and they do the same for us. I would have preferred not to do it but I had to, so I walked the three kilometers to the place I would work at on heavy legs. Then I worked from 17.30 to 22.30, trying to keep stuff in my not-in-top-shape mind. At least I got to know that being a waiter is not what I want in the future. At 22:30 I headed home, I could have gone to a party but I didn't need to think very hard before deciding not to. At home I fell down in bed and slept for eleven hours straight.
I had a normal morning. after one hour of taking it chill I started working on the same paper as on Saturday, that we had to hand in this Monday. We had had quite a slow start so we still had a lot to do before handing it in. I suggested that we should head to school to work, and at 18.00 we did. By then I had worked about four hours at home. We were working in a group of three and had written a few pages each, our paper ended up being 20 pages long. Our teacher had said that below 20 would be a problem so I'm glad we managed to get enough. How long time it took to turn our total of eight pages into twenty? Well, we left school at 04.20, as you can see on the picture, probably the latest time for me ever and I hope it will stay that way. After that we drove to McDonalds to eat, then headed home to Nacksta to sleep. I hit my bed at around 06:00.
Monday:
About five hours hours of sleep, at 11:00, I had to get up again and go to school to print our paper and hand it in. Then we had an evalutation of this school year, after that I went home and took a well deserved and much needed nap, I hope you can see why I didn't write this blog post yesterday :)
