This Friday I finished my last text for the magazine Fokus where I've been working since 1 feb during my long term internship. It sure was a weird feeling leaving the place for the last time. I will miss it but nothing lasts forever. Now I'm free to do whatever I want and just relax until my studies in Sundsvall start again in September. Never mind, I'm not.
This Sunday I will be heading to Nacka Värmdö Posten to get some last training in editing and publishing stuff. I will be working there five weekends during my summer holiday. The area I'll be responsible for is probably the most unexpected one ... I who don't even like football and find Zlatan do be a stuck up guy with a too big ego. I do like athletics and wont move from the tv-couch during the races in the olympics in August. I find it a bit weird that they added golf to something they call athletics so I wont watch that but it will sure take a lot to keep me away from seeing Bolt and Rudisha in action. I'm still looking forward to trying out being a sports reporter, I wouldn't want to be it full time but for a few weekends it seems like great practise.
I will also be working as an atheltics trainer on a summer camp for kids four or five weeks of my holiday starting this monday with three weeks straight. I'm very glad that I get to do it tho. I love kids and a week of teaching them atheletics is just fun. It isn't very well paid but I would probably do it for free. The only problem is that I'll have to get up around 07.00 but I guess I might survive even that. Kids are lovely after all.
I remember last year when I had an annoying kid who always did something else than she was supposed to. She usually wasn't annoying on purpose but she had large problems listening and focusing on what she should. Even if I liked her I was a bit relieved when the last day was over. Then when we collect our group for the last time she isn't there. I sigh and ask my fellow trainer if he can find her but before he can she comes running back - with cinnamon buns that she proudly announced that she had made yesterday with some help from her mother. During that kind of moments you can't really do anything else than love them.
I sure have a lot of nice work to look forward to during my summer, my economy as well, after all my internship was paid too.
One last funny thing too. During my lunch break on my last day at Fokus I knew that the best chess player in Sweden would be playing with whoever wanted to challenge him at a nearby shopping mall with one minute on his clock against five minutes for the challenger. To my surprise I actually beat him, and not on time but by checkmate. Except for the honor I got a 30 euro gift card for all shops in the mall. I used it to buy some summer clothing as I had forgotten a lot of it in Sundsvall. It was also payback for our last game. He is one year older than me and we met once six or seven years ago in a group in the swedish youth championship. As the terms were equal I got crushed of course, he was far from the best in Sweden then but he was of course also far above my level already.
