I'm both happy and sad about the outcome. I got the prime minister change that I wanted, Stefan Löfven from the Social democrats is now prime minister but that's pretty much the only good thing. He and his allies didn't get over 50%, giving a sad party a lot of power. The sad party I'm talking about is SD, The Sweden democrats. A party that wants to reduce immigration by 90%. Some people call that racism, I don't. I'm not surprised that 13% think that SD got the best immigration policy as all other parties are more or less the same, no change or even more immigration. However I still wonder how the 13% voting for them are thinking. I don't believe that they're all racists so how can they miss that so many important politicians in the party are? Racists or idiots, here is a video that shows what I mean. Not all of them are that way of course but many, far too many. (Video in Swedish)
There was also another controversial party. Fi, the feminist party. They ended up at 3.1%, 4% is what you need to get into the parliament. They are working for women rights, as you might have guessed. If they had managed to get those 4% they would probably have been together with Löfven, the new prime minister meaning that he'd have a better position so of course I'm a bit disappointed but I'm a bit relieved too. Of course feminists are more charming than racists but when it comes to what the parties want and not the people in them I think that it would be equally bad. I'm allergic to a quota system for example, as well as that at least 50% of the money should be given to women when it comes to regional development projects. They want exactly 50% women and men in certain organisations, of which some don't have an even number of seats, they also want a third gender to be implemented. Read more here. (In Swedish)
For those of you who don't speak Swedish, here is an interview with the SD leader in English.
Enough with politics, what about me?
After 2 weeks the so called inspark, "inkick" in English, is over. The inspark is a tradition at also every university with a lot of different activities to make the new students get to know each other better. As I've written before it has worked out fine. There has also been a competition for the title "zero of the year". Zero is what you are during the inspark, then you become a firstgrader. Each class got a winner and I won in mine, the journalism class. How to win? Well, participate in activities and be active in every way. As you might suspect the activities often include alcohol but it was always okay to drink water instead and noone was forced to participate, you could just tag along and be a bystander.
On Friday night we had the last event, a three-course dinner where I was announced the winner. How I feel? Terrible. Not because I won but because I got a terrible chill immidiately after the dinner. Since then it has only gotten worse. I have an headache and my nasal spray isn't doing anything at all. I'll try to buy a new one tomorrow, the closest drug store is only 15 min by bike. I'm not even sure that I'll be able to go to school tomorrow but I hope I can manage. Now I'm going to bed. I should have gone to bed earlier but I wanted to see the result of the election before writing.
