What really fascinates me is that kids, despite using so many while chatting with one another can stay completely away from them in a serious text, in school for example. The teacher that was interviewed in the article said the same. They are perfectly capable of using fully formal English or Swedish when they need to. I think that will always stay the same but I rly wonder how much of "teenager language" I am familiar with in ten years, prolly wont be much and I'll most likely feel even older, which I'll also be ofc so that might not be all bad. I think you understand that I've used more abbreviations while writing this than I usually do in a text but I do use many of the words I've used here, especially while gaming. I could have put more into this text but I want to stay away from a certain vulgar word at f, which means leaving quite a lot out.
Now to something entirely different, I've only got two days left in Stockholm, then I'll leave for Sundsvall where I will stay for three years, studying journalistics at Mittuniversitet. I'm a bit nervous but mainly excited, I can't wait to begin. I will be living in a quite large apartment that I share with two people, one exchange student that only speaks English and one Swedish guy. School starts on Monday but my class will meet up on Friday already for an introduction, I can't wait...
Today I played my last chess tournament in a long while, Sundsvall doesn't really have an active chessclub. I'm glad that I finished well and won 400kr, it was double rounded, meaning 2 games against every player and despite being much lower rated than 6 of the 7 opponents I only lost to one person, my best tournament in a long while. For those of you who play chess, my rating is 1783 and my performance rating was 2041.I really love playing a good blitz tournament. One side effect of playing 14 hard games is that you get very very tired, that means it's time for me to go to bed now, I'll be surprised if it takes more than five minutes for me to fall asleep, my eyelids are already feeling very heavy. It will feel goooooood to sleep.
