The funeral was quite short, my grandmother didn't want to include very much religion in it and we kept it simple according to her wishes. Afterwards we went home to her old house for dinner. After eating it was time to inherit we got to pick the stuff we wanted in the house. Whatever is left will have to be thrown away before we sell the house so it was better to pick than not to pick. I grabbed a few books by famous authors that will make me look smart, like Der Idiot by Dostojevskij the Illiad by Homeros and some books by Solsjenitsyn and Goethe. All in german of course, most of my grandmothers books were in german. Just like her they were also old, meaning that the german words arn't exactly spelled as they are today. The letters are in a wierd style so they will also be hard to understand. It will be a real challenge trying to read one. I will probably go for one of Goethes poems, not the easiest but the shortest and it will take a lot of time anyway.
Other than the books I picked a small painting. I couldn't take any large stuff as I live in a room in a student apartment at the moment. I did get something slightly larger however, my grandfathers tuxedo. I'm not good at judging such things but apparently it's of great quality and a bit luxurious. I'm looking forward to using it when I get a good chance.
After picking the stuff we wanted some of us stayed the night in the house. We were all quite tired so we spent the evening with a geography program that was about placing the right name on the right country/city/province on a map. We started of with African countries and European cities and that went fairly well. It got a bit harder when we tried with provinces in China. It's quite hard to keep track of which is which when some of them are called Hebei, Hubei, Henan, Hunan and Heinan. Still, we got quite a lot of laughs from it. I can't recall the name of the program we played but if you want something similar you can donwload Seterra to your computer, probably also your mobile phone, it's a free and very good one that is almost the same.
The next day I took the train back to Sundsvall and I've been here since then.
I have had a hard time getting inspiration and coming up with things to write about lately. If you have any ideas about what you'd like to read about you're more than welcome to tell me in the comments below, I really appreciate it!
