I started the evening at 20.00 with meeting up with some internationals, there are many of them in Nacksta where I live and it's a good chance to practise my german. I got speak more than just German. English wasn't very unexpected but I hadn't planned to speak Spanish. I remembered more phrases than I thought I would so that was good to know.
After a while one of the guys I share my apartment with randomly appeared in the door with his friends. At least random for us two, we weren't expecting it so there was a bit of laughter. We had talked with each other about what to do during the evening and where to go but come to the conclusion that we wouldn't cross paths so it was a pleasant surprise even if he and his italian gang - he is Italian - only stayed for a short while.
The second moment of laughter came shortly after. I was sitting on a couch talking to some people. The girl to my right notices that a guy called Tien has arrived. The conversation goes as follows:
She: Hello Tien. Tien: Hello, my name is Tien.
His English isn't bad, he just failed to listen. It's not such a big thing but at that time it was hillarious, the rest of us on the couch and around it laughed. Unfortunately for me I was drinking a beer right then, nothing strong, just 3.5%. Sadly it's not how strong something is but how it tastes that matters when you get what we in Sweden call a "kallsup". Google translate calls it "Involuntary gulp of water", wich is a decent translation. A kallsup is what you can get while diving or going down a water slide somewhere, you get water in your nose and it's a very unpleasant feeling. Getting a kallsup of beer is ten times as unpleasant if not more.
A while later we took the bus into city. I left the internationals and went to Kårhuset, the universitys club, to meet my classmates instead. I had a good time there as well. I like to play table football at the table they got and I'm quite good at it. Or well, I'm not good compared to those who compete, I met the Swiss youth champion once and lost with 20-1. But compared to random club visitors I am quite good, I have lost one out of about 40 games so far and that one was with one hand against four opponents. Now I met a random guy and for the first time I had a really good match, after some intense shooting and saving I won with 10-8 but it could easily have been the other way around.
At 02.00 the club and I was planning to go away with some friends but that didn't happen. I followed my friends for a while but then I abandoned them when I met a girl who was very drunk. She immidiately fell into my arms so I decided to follow her home. And with that I mean just following her home, like you should do if someone is very drunk and can't walk straight. I don't know what would have happened if I hadn't been there when we crossed the large road that you have to cross to get to her street. After crossing it I got her home safely, I left her when she went into her apartment. I really hope this is what everyone would do. If someone needs company home because he/she is too drunk to walk safely alone that person needs to sleep and drink a glass of water when he/she gets home, nothing else. She said thanks to "the sausage man", apparently she thought my beer bottle looked like a hot dog. Now I doubt she remembers me, but at least she got home safely. After dropping her of I went home to my own place and got some sleep, it was a really great day with laughing, many cool costumes, a good table football game and a good deed to finish the evening off.
Gnight
