It feels quite weird really. After finishing my previous educations I always knew the next one. From the elementary school to the gymnasium to a language school in Germany to this university. Sure, I got half a year in Amsterdam to go, which I can't wait to begin, but after that it's all over. Time to work every day with no obvious next step in the near future. Right now I can't really imagine it.
Being at my last few days in Sundsvall I have of course made as much of them as possible. The weekend has been filled with activities, trying out a kind of German burning mulled wine fox example, but most of all of just enjoying a lot of friends company for what might be the last time.
Enough about the social aspect, I'm sure I'll be writing more of that when I have actually left as well. I still got one last evening of a calm goodbye party. Onto another subject, good school news.
As I might have written earlier on this blog my teacher wasn't very happy with how our study was going last time she gave us feedback, forcing us to have our examination after Christmas instead of our plan that was to do it this Thursday. When she gave feedback she said that we'd struggle to pass it. I know from previous first hand experience that she is very tough with grades so I never saw the risk as that large as long as we kept working, but of course it still wasn't fun.
Well, this Friday we got our second feedback session after having made the improvements she asked us to, and she told us that we were on the right track, with some more structure and if we just kept going with the parts we according to plan have left it shouldn't be too hard for us to pass, the question was just which grade we'd get. Given which teacher it comes from I think that pretty much means that we have passed it, if we just do the last parts of course. I don't mind having this last part to do either, Christmas is a lot of fun but there is always some day between Christmas and new year with absolutely nothing to do, except getting the time to pass by writing for ten hours or so. That's the plan at least :)
The picture is of the German drink Feuerzangenbowle, while not the main point of the evening it really looked spectacular. Of course you drink it after it has stopped burning.
I am writing this shortly after hearing of the new attacks in Berlin and Zürich and the shooting of the russian ambassador but I choose not to focus on that subject. What has to be said has been said by many people already. Not much more to do than to keep our heads calm without jumping on rumors and let the police and news sites do their job.
