I'll be studying global trendwatching and the education is going to be fairly easy according to previous Swedish exchange students so I've applied for an optional course in Dutch as well. All in all it seems like a lot to look forward to. First I just have to complete my last semester here in Sundsvall, and the studies sure arn't fun. The education that has been journalism so far has turned into learning how to make a scientific study, which we will be making in November.
I don't like it and I don't see what use I'll have for it as a journalist and I could say some other bad things about it as well. But it's also the last thing I'll do in my studies before Amsterdam and it's probably my last time at the Mid Sweden University so I'll just have to survive it. At least the surroundings and people are nice. I also have a good workmate unlike for the smaller scientific study that I did previously that I had to do solo over the summer as my groupmates quit.
I'm feeling quite good about the studies as I got done with a quite large work today and am free for a while. But I wrote that we start with the study in November and I'm not free until then, first I have one last exam. When that is done and I start with the study I'll also only have until mid December instead of the start of January like most of the class. If you hand it in in January and fail you will have to redo it in March, and that's not really an option for me and my groupmate, as we'll be in Holland by then. Neither of us intends to come back next year at all really, at least except for maybe to visit some friend still in Sundsvall.
All in all, studies not looking fun, the rest of life in Sundsvall looking as fun as usual, and the future looking really really fun! Not too bad really, especially as I'm not going to be working on the study alone.
I guess some of you might have questions about why I picked Amsterdam so I intend to upload my personal letter that I was asked to send with my application. I just have to check that it's alright first and I doubt my teacher will reply in the weekend. Unless something unexpected happens it comes with the next post on this blog. I can assure you already that I'm not there for what the city is known for however, except maybe for biking.
