The next thing I remember is that I am lying in a hospital bed and unable to move my neck. The javelin didn't hit anything important and the blood loss was smaller than the nurses originally thought, so I am actually very lucky. Without the painkillers I would probably be in a lot of pain but they reduce it to a slight ache that I can actually stand, even if it is annoying. I will most likely be out of the hospital in a week but I'll have something around my neck making me unable to move it for about a month, and I'll miss my two weeks in Italy as I can't fly. And that's the end of this made up story. I hope I didn't lose any readers there but I just couldn't resist as the makeup looked so convincing. I was busy on Sunday, but it wasn't due to a competition, it was due to a recording of a movie and it's supposed to be a zombie bite.
Here come some background: This Friday I decided that I felt like a bit of acting, so I signed up for being an extra in a tv-series. We were supposed to record between 15.00 and 20.00, and sure enough we finished at 19.57, but it wasn't much fun. The first four hours we, the 15 extras, just got to sit in some sofas and wait, and the wait is the most boring part of having a smaller role. Then we got to go into the studio and watch them do some scenes, and finally, at around 19.30 we got to be an audience and wave some balloons to cheer for a band that was playing. The good thing was that I spoke to an elderly gentleman who was also an extra. We talked a bit about everything, and he mentioned that he would be an extra on Sunday as well, in the movie Housewife Aliens versus Gay Zombies. The movie is a parody of B-movies and with that name I just coudlnt resist so I decided to join in. I also felt like being in a zombie movie is something every hobby actor should do. As it wasn't paid it was free for all to come.
It was a great sunday with perfect weather. I got a role with a few phrases to say, which I asked for as I know that such roles usually means less waiting and more acting, and of course that I'll be seen more in the movie, I wont deny that I want that. Why be in a movie if you don't want time in front of the camera? What we recorded was basicly a scene where a main character and two friends from a gym - one of them me - was running from a zombie. We tried to escape into a marathon race that we happened to come by to flee. As the image shows you my character didn't succeed. I'm not going to reveal more of the plot or details as this is a movie in production but I can tell you as much as that it was a lot of blood, 95% fake. Being pulled down to the ground by a zombie five times and trying to make it realistic does hurt a bit and gives some scratches.
We were supposed to finish at 17.00 but it ended up being 18.30 instead, and then it was time to shower at a place the organizer provided. I doubt I'd be very popular with sticky hands leaving red marks everywhere on the subway. After getting clean and leaving my bloody clothes at home I headed out to meet my friends to plan our trip to Italy this friday, where we'll stay for two weeks.
As I said I got rid of the blood, what I didn't get rid of however was some "entrails" attached to my stomach. Or well, the zombie that ate them got rid of the actual entrails, but the sticky glue wasn't as easy. It was quite similar to the stuff that a plaster sometimes leaves behind when removed, but covering a much larger area and much harder to remove.
As I wrote I'm going to Italy for two weeks. I'm not bringing my computer with me so I'm not sure that I'll be able to write my blog during this time. That will mean that I can't write next Sunday unless I find an internet café and get some time to do it. The same goes for this Sunday but I'll try to write something on Thursday instead, before I leave.
Good night, and I apologise once more if I scared you with my javelin story but I just couldn't resist.
