Well, that might be an overexaggeration but the headline is true. Those of you who read my blog a lot probably know that I sometimes work as an actor, mainly small roles. This Friday I got a call from Sommarkrysset who wanted to have me on stage the next day at Gröna Lund, Stockholms tivoli. I wouldn't get paid for it sure sounded entertaining actually performing live, which is a first timer for me. When I heard that I got every attraction for free all day while not working - most of the time - it wasn't very hard to make up my mind, I took the job. What the job was? Well, nothing complicated really, I and 15 other men simply stood behind an artist when he performed without doing anything. The song he performed is called brothers, and that's what we symbolized. That we did nothing doesn't mean that it wasn't fun however. Standing at the front of the stage, dressed in black and looking cool, was really great. 20 seconds in the spotlight in front of a filled Gröna Lund is something noone who likes attention would say no to. To make it even better I also brought a friend along, and made a new friend there.
It didn't hurt that I got to meet a lot of famous artists, some wanting to take a picture with me. - It really wasn't the other way around, as I'm sure you understand. - The person in the middle of the picture is one, the famous Swedish artist Danny. I also met my favourite rap band, Panetoz. I also spoke with one of the guys in Panetoz while sitting in the greenroom, without even knowing he was from the band. You might think that I should recognize the looks of the people in a band that I like but I don't really watch videos that much, I just listen to the music. Anyway, we had a nice conversation and found out that we had something in common, chess. Just like me he was a good chess player when he was younger and had competed for his elementary school many years ago, which I knew of, just like he knew of mine. The reason is that our two schools were the best in Sweden by far back then when it came to chess so there was a lot of internal competition. It's a really small world we live in, isn't it?
21.40, after the show and pics with the famous peeps, we went to the attractions. The park had been quite full during daytime, meaning that the queues were very long so we didn't visit more than one attraction. After the show Sommarkrysset it was much better and we had some great until the park closed at 23.00. A really great day!
