On Saturday I celebrated my friends birthday. We started of with sitting at his place being social, then after some hours we headed out to find a pub or a similar place. We found a large table that we shared with another group of people. I ended up talking to one of them, after a while he asked where I came from. When I said Stockholm he asked me where. I told him that he probably didn't know it but that I was from Mälarhöjden.
Turns out I was wrong, he knew the place very well as he was from Mälarhöjden too. He lived about 500 meters away from me before moving to Sundsvall to work. Out of the 9.8 millions in Sweden 4500 lives in Mälarhöjden. I find it quite unbelieveable that I'd end up talking about my teacher Lasse from the elementary school I went to at a random pub in Sundsvall. It didn't make it any less weird that my classmate, who's also from Mälarhöjden, was sitting at the table. Out of ten persons around the table three were from my little place in Stockholm. It sure is a small world :)
That post wasn't awfully long so I'll add a small story from Sunday.
I might just have broken my record at 800m that evening. I was sitting at my computer watching a tv-show when I realised that I didn't have anything for breakfast tomorrow. Or well, I had plenty of sandwiches but nothing to have on them. I also had plenty of müsli, but no yoghurt.
No big problem, the walk to my supermarket Ica isn't long, it takes less than ten minutes to get there. The slight problem was that I didn't really have slightly less than ten minutes as it was 22.48, and Ica closes at 23.00. That is twelve minutes, but I had to get in there and pick up everything I needed too.
That is one of the moments when it's useful to be good at running. I got down to Ica in about two minutes and managed to get out of there at 22.58, in time! Really good exercise but I think that I'll make sure to go there a bit earlier next time anyway.
